Timeline = The amount of time you want and/or need to make the changes and life hacks you will decide on later.

Example: I want to change jobs by next year... So I will choose a timeline between now and New Year's Day.

If this if your first time playing, use 6 months or an upcoming major event, holiday, birthday, or anniversary that's more than 3 months away.

Pick A Timeline

Before your start life hacking you want to give yourself a reasonable deadline to help focus you on making the changes you want to make.
Rules

1. Consider how long you want to give yourself to make major changes in your life.

2. Pick a timeline between 90 days and 1 year.

3. Advance to round 2

Help & Hints

Control = Is there anything you want to take control of in your life?

Delete = Is there anything you want to remove from your life?

Enter = Is there a place, relationship, or state of mind you want to enter?

Return = Is there something in your past you would like to return to?

Shift = Is there something you want to shift in your life? (Ex: Same job, different city)

Alt = Are there any alternative lifestyles or worlds you'd like to explore?

Function = Is there a malfunctioning part of your life you'd like to make more functional?

You may notice that you feel stronger thinking about the meaning behind some keys and weaker when considering the meaning behind others. To improve as a life hacker, try for a mix of both. If this is your first time playing pick 2-3 keys. If you're experienced with personal transformation, and looking for a challenge, try picking all of them.

Choose Your Keys

Time to pick the types of changes you want to make in your life. You'll use a standard computer keyboard to get ideas.

Rules

1. Look at a computer keyboard.

2. Consider what each key represents. (ex: Do you want to Delete anything from your life?)

3. Pick the keys that call out to you most.

Help & Hints

Take your time with these. There's no rush, and you're more likely to follow through if you can recall and repeat each of these three weeks from now.

Create Your Hacks

Now, let's see if you can clearly describe the life hacks you will achieve by your chosen timeline...
Rules

1. Start a sentence with each of your chosen words

2. Finish your sentence with the command you wish to execute (Ex: Delete all this clutter from my house.)

3. Repeat the process and refine your sentences until they really capture the life hacks you're looking to make.

Help & Hints

Example: "Shift my relationship with my sister from competitive to grateful." might make the most sense on your phone's lock screen so you see it before you start texting with her.

By placing the hack commands you've written into the times and places in your life where they matter most, you'll start to build an inner voice helping you hack your way to the changes you seek even without having to read the hacks you wrote.

Get Hacking

OK, now let's get your program of life hacks running wherever you need them.
Rules

1. Record all of your desired life hacks somewhere you can easily access on a daily basis

2. For each individual hack, find the place or places in your world where they are the most relevant

3. Start hacking, and keep hacking, every day until your timeline is up. Then play this game again, you'll be ready for some new life hacks! :)
